French Guiana: Authorities have eased COVID-19-related restrictions as of Feb. 25; curfew lifted /update 40

As of Feb. 25, officials in French Guiana have eased COVID-19 related restrictions, lifted the nightly curfew in all municipalities.

Authorities in French Guiana have eased certain COVID-19-related domestic measures as of Feb. 25. A nightly 21:00-05:00 curfew, which was in place in several municipalities, has been lifted; currently, there are no curfews in the region. Other measures, including on international travel, are also in force.

Domestic Measures
Throughout French Guiana, all persons aged 11 and older must wear a facemask in public and when attending any gathering. Businesses can open without capacity limits as long as customers have the Passe Sanitaire, confirming they are fully vaccinated. Tourist activities and inter-municipal travel are allowed for fully vaccinated individuals. There are no limits for gatherings.

International Travel Restrictions
Only fully vaccinated individuals may enter French Guiana without a compelling reason for travel. People who are 65 and older must receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to be considered fully vaccinated.

Most travelers must show a negative result from a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure for French Guiana. Travelers from Guadeloupe or Martinique must show the results from a PCR test taken no less than 72 hours before or an antigen test taken no more than 48 prior to departure.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
