Denmark: Authorities lift some COVID-19-related international entry restrictions as of March 1 /update 49

Denmark lifts some COVID-19-related international entry restrictions effective March 1.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Denmark have lifted some COVID-19-related international travel measures effective March 1. Only minimal domestic measures remain in force.

Domestic Measures
Most domestic measures have been lifted. The use of facemasks and the "coronapas" digital COVID-19 certificate is still recommended at hospitals and elderly care homes. The coronapas serves as proof that the holder is vaccinated against, recovered from, or recently tested negative for COVID-19. It is valid for seven months, after which the holder must receive a booster vaccination in order to extend the certificate's validity. Businesses, private cultural institutions, and associations or clubs retain the right to impose their own COVID-19-related restrictions.

International Travel Restrictions
Nonessential travel is permitted from all locations. Travelers from EU or Schengen countries are no longer required to present a negative test result or to quarantine on arrival. Travelers from non-EU/Schengen nations must present evidence of vaccination or previous infection; persons without such documentation must take a COVID-19 test within the first 24 hours after arrival.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
