Heightened security is likely at Kaduna International Airport (KAD) in the coming days following an attack at the facility overnight March 25/26. Dozens of unidentified assailants attacked a navigations site at the airport and engaged in clashes with the security forces. One security officer was killed. Officials recovered two of the assailants' motorcycles after the encounter. Flight operations were briefly impacted during the attack but have since resumed. KAD is located 35 km (22 miles) northwest of Kaduna city.

Authorities are likely to increase patrols and checkpoints near the airport in the coming days. Security force measures could result in airport access delays. The assailants remain at large and further attacks near or at the airport are possible.
