Albania: COVID-19-related restrictions on mass gatherings no longer in effect as of April 4 /update 36
Albania lifts COVID-19 gathering restriction as of early April; some domestic measures and international travel restrictions still in place.
Event
Albania's COVID-19-related restrictions on mass gatherings have been lifted as of early April; gatherings were previously limited to 50 people.
Domestic Measures
Wearing a facemask remains mandatory in indoor public spaces and on public transport. Those who test positive for COVID-19 must self-isolate for five days.
International Travel Restrictions
All of Albania's land borders are open. Travelers older than six years of age need to present either a certificate indicating that they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before arrival, a valid document indicating recovery from COVID-19 within the last six months, a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival, or a negative result from a rapid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before arrival. Albanian nationals returning to the country without one of the abovementioned documents can quarantine for 10 days and take a COVID-19 test at the end of the isolation period.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
