Further violence is likely in the coming days in Lagos, Lagos State, following deadly clashes around Iju Road in the Fagba area, Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area (LGA), April 11. Rival factions of the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) clashed in the area over a leadership conflict, resulting in three deaths and the destruction of some vehicles.
Security forces will almost certainly deploy to the site of any further violence. The clashes and leadership dispute could also generate protests. Participants could stage sit-ins or roadblocks. Police forces will deploy to monitor any protest that materializes, notably if protesters cause road congestion. The potential for clashes with security forces is elevated.
