Warning

Event

A protest at Sveaparken in Orebro devolved into violence late April 15, as security personnel and demonstrators clashed. At least five police officers have been injured and several police vehicles were set on fire during the melees. Several hundred individuals had initially gathered at Sveaparken to protest the decision to grant leader of the far-right Danish Hard Line Party Rasmus Paludan a permit to hold a rally in the city.

Security forces are working on dispersing the crowd. Increased security measures and related disruptions are likely in central Orebro through late April 15. Additional skirmishes between police and demonstrators, or among groups of rival activists cannot be ruled out.

Advice

Strictly avoid all protests that may occur in Orebro through the end of April 15. Keep away from any areas where security personnel appear to be deploying.
