Several labor unions and pensioners' organizations plan to hold protests in cities across Venezuela April 26. The purpose of the action is to demand that national authorities increase salaries and pensions. The main gathering will begin at 09:00 outside the offices of the Labor Ministry located a Plaza Caracas in the Venezuelan capital. Elsewhere, activists will rally at the Labor Ministry's local branch offices in various cities, including in Barinas, Maracay, Merida, and Coro.

Participation in the demonstrations will probably vary by location. Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security near government offices; localized transport disruptions are likely.
