Islamic State (IS) militants reportedly attacked a security checkpoint belonging to the Shi'a Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs) in Basheer village, Taza Khurmatu district, Kirkuk Governorate, May 23, killing at least three fighters and two farmers. Unconfirmed reports also indicate that IS militants attacked farmers in Taza Khurmatu's Sami al-Asi village, killing at least six people. Authorities did not immediately confirm the number of casualties nor release further details about the attacks.
