Oman lifting remaining COVID-19 measures as of May 22 amid drop in the number of disease cases.
Event
Authorities in Oman have removed all remaining COVID-19 restrictions as of May 22 amid a drop in the number of disease cases. The move includes all mandates on the use of facemasks and large gatherings.
Domestic Measures
No restrictions limiting large gatherings or freedom of movement remain in place as of May 22.
International Travel Restrictions
Incoming international travelers no longer need to register through the eMushrif platform or undertake a PCR test before or upon arrival, as had previously been the case. Moreover, authorities have lifted quarantine requirements, as well as the mandate on downloading the Tarassud+ track and trace application before departing for Oman.
Arriving non-Omani citizens over the age of 18 must present a vaccination certificate proving they have received at least two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. The last dose must have been administered no less than 14 days before arrival in the country. Approved vaccines in Oman include Oxford-AstraZeneca, AstraZeneca-Covishield, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac, Sinopharm, and Sputnik V. Returning Omani nationals no longer need to show proof of vaccination upon entry.
All travelers still must have international health insurance that covers the cost of COVID-19 treatment for at least one month.
Authorities could introduce new preventive measures or amend existing restrictions depending on disease activity in the coming days and weeks.
