The wildfire is located near Bubuk-myeon Town, Miryang City, South Gyeongsang Province, around 280 km (174 miles) southeast of Seoul. Authorities estimate that the fire has burned 150 hectares (370 acres) and more than 1,550 personnel are on-site battling the blaze. The fire is spreading northwards due to strong winds; additional wildfire growth is likely. Authorities have evacuated more than 470 people from nearby villages.
