Activists, including members of Black Lives Matter Houston and the Harris County Democratic Party, plan to demonstrate in Houston, Texas, May 27-29, to protest the National Rifle Association's (NRA) convention, to be hosted in the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Activists plan to gather at Discovery Green, located across the George R. Brown Convention Center from 13:00 May 27. A group of interfaith activists plans to gather outside the Convention Center at 13:00 and march through its main hall.

Other protests are likely to occur May 28-29 around the George R. Brown Convention Center. Heightened security in the area is highly likely, with associated transport disruptions. Clashes between demonstrators and police, or between demonstrators and those attending the convention cannot be ruled out. Counter-protests in the area are possible.
