The blackout started the evening of June 21 after a CLP power cable caught fire. While authorities have restored power to most areas immediately following the incident, around 20,000 households in Tin Ching, Tin Yuet, and Tin Chak estates remain without electricity as of June 22. Officials have also suspended classes in at least 14 schools due to the outage. Authorities are working to restore power; they estimate services will normalize in two days.
