Iraq: Rocket attack reported near Khor Mor gas field late June 24

Event

A rocket has targeted the Khor Mor gas field in Iraq's Suleimaniyah Governorate late June 24. There have been no reports of casualties; however, the attack has caused a fire at the facility. No militia or militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. The attack comes two days after a similar incident on June 22.

Heightened security measures and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the impact area over the coming hours. Additional attacks targeting military installations and critical infrastructure sites cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the vicinity of the affected area until authorities give the all-clear. Heed the instructions of local security personnel. If incoming fire is reported in the general vicinity, stay indoors, away from windows and exterior walls. If possible, move to the ground floor or basement.
