New Caledonia: Bus service disruptions to continue in Noumea and surrounding areas until June 20 /update 1

Bus disruptions to continue in Noumea and surrounding areas in New Caledonia until at least June 20. Plan for some route disruptions.

Informational

Event

Bus service disruptions will continue in Noumea and surrounding areas until at least June 20. Operators closed several routes following attacks on coaches south of Mont-Dore, though most services have resumed. The extended suspension will impact Taneo routes M2 and M3, while routes M4 and L8 will not operate south of Mont-Dore. Evening services in southern Mont-Dore will remain suspended until further notice.

Increased demand for alternative transport is likely. Crowded conditions are also possible on alternative bus routes. Some commuters could resort to using their private vehicles, potentially increasing traffic congestion between Noumea and Saint Louis.

Advice

Confirm bus schedules in affected areas. Seek alternative transport, if needed. Allow additional time to reach destinations due to possible increased traffic congestion and higher demand for alternative transport services.
