Two people were reportedly shot in the incident. One of the victims died from his injuries; the status of the second victim was not immediately confirmed. Whistler Blackcomb officials closed the resort for the rest of the day following the shooting incident. Authorities have advised individuals to "avoid the delineated area in Skier's Plaza" amid an associated police investigation.
