Activists from the Unitary Union of Education Workers of Peru (Sindicato Unitario de Trabajadores de la Educacion del Peru, SUTEP) have announced a protest in Lima July 21 to press for better educational conditions and criticize current government policies. SUTEP is calling for demonstrators to gather from 15:00 at the SUTEP headquarters. Protesters are also likely to march to nearby locations like Plaza San Martin. Additional smaller marches are also possible across Peru, particularly in public squares and in front of government buildings or schools.
