India: Farmers' coalition calls for protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi Aug. 22

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a coalition of farmer unions, is calling for a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi Aug. 22. Participants intend to demand several concessions from the central government, including that the government set minimum support prices (MSPs) for farmers so that they can support themselves when prices decrease. Several dozen to a few hundred people will likely attend the protest.
