Activists affiliated with the Users' Coordination Against Metropolitan Abuses (Coordinadora de Usuarios contra Abusos del Metropolitano) plan to hold a protest outside the offices of the Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (Autoridad de Transporte Urbano, ATU), in Lima, Aug. 24. They are demanding a fare reduction and improved services in public transportation serving the city. Demonstrators will reportedly gather outside the ATU offices, located along Avenida Paseo de la Republica and Avenida Domingo Orue, from 15:30.

Hundreds are likely to join the demonstration, which is likely to create transport disruptions in the area. Heightened security around the ATU offices is likely.
