Burkina Faso: Power outages planned in parts of Ouagadougou Sept. 17

The national electrical company of Burkina Faso, Sonabel, plans to temporarily suspend electricity service in parts of Ouagadougou 08:00 to 12:00 Sept. 17. Affected areas include Cissin, Pissy, Paglayiri, City Abdul service Saaba, USTA Saaba Bargo, Gampela, Gonsin, Gumissin, Goose leg, and Gonse University. The suspension is due to the connection of new distribution stations.

Localized disruptions are possible in the affected areas around the city. Malfunctioning traffic signals could increase disruptions for ground transportation. Cellular and mobile services could be affected. The planned power outage could also result in the temporary unavailability of essential services such as ATMs and filling stations. Plan for possible continued electrical disruptions after the planned timeframe.
