Event
As of Sept. 21, authorities in Equatorial Guinea have removed the COVID-19-related mandatory three-day hotel quarantine upon arrival. Other travel and domestic measures remain unchanged.
Domestic Measures
All residents are required to get vaccinated.
Travel between provinces and districts within continental Equatorial Guinea is authorized at up to 50 percent capacity. Travelers will be required to show proof of vaccination.
Those traveling from Malabo and Bata will need to show proof of a negative PCR test taken 48 hours before departure in addition to a vaccination certificate.
Maritime travel is authorized to resume without frequency restrictions between both regions of the country and with a maximum of 250 travelers. A vaccination certificate and proof of a recent PCR test are required for all passengers.
Protective facemasks are compulsory in public places.
Discotheques, casinos, bars, parks, restaurants, swimming pools, and beaches are open and operate at 50 percent capacity. Proof of vaccination is required. Capacity at celebratory events and places of worship is also limited to 50 percent capacity.
Individuals may access administrative buildings and public establishments by providing proof of vaccination.
Public transport and taxis may operate at reduced capacity. Proof of vaccination is required to access public transport.
Interregional commercial transport between continental Equatorial Guinea and the capital island is ongoing. Passengers will be required to present proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test.
If a large number of COVID-19 cases are detected in a specific area, authorities may enact localized lockdown measures.
International Travel Restrictions
The government is allowing four international flights per week per airline.
All passengers must provide proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours prior to arrival as well as proof of vaccination.
Upon arrival, travelers may undertake a rapid test.
A three-day hotel or at-home quarantine is mandatory for all travelers arriving by air, land, and sea borders. A PCR test must be taken after the three-day isolation period.
Travelers from countries with variant strains of the disease may be prohibited from entering Equatorial Guinea until further notice. Equatoguinean citizens arriving from abroad are exempt but must comply with the quarantine requirement.
