Unionized farmers under the Bharatiya Kisan Union-Charuni (BKU-Charuni) have lifted road blockades in Haryana State as of Sept. 26 after talks with officials. Participants held the action Sept. 23-24 to demand the state government commence crop procurement immediately, and increase compensation. Hundreds of activists blocked the National Highway 44 at Kurukshetra District's Shahabad from Sept. 23, causing significant transport disruptions between Delhi and Punjab State.

Renewed protests may occur outside prominent government buildings and at public squares if the state government reneges on its promises.
