A magnitude-5.1 offshore earthquake occurred near the northeast region of Indonesia at 01:20 WITA Sept. 10. The epicenter was about 159 km (99 miles) west-northwest of Tobelo. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 54 km (34 miles), and Light-to-moderate shaking was probably felt throughout the northern and central North Maluku and eastern North Sulawesi provinces.
