An additional suspected projectile was fired toward the Green Zone in Baghdad Sept. 28. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage concerning the latest incident.
The latest attack comes after two projectiles landed in the vicinity of the Iraqi Parliament, wounding four people, and another projectile landed in an area close to the UK Embassy's compound. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Increased security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in and near the Green Zone in the coming hours. Further similar incidents cannot be ruled out in the coming days.
