Burkina Faso: Power outages planned in several parts of Ouagadougou Oct. 29-30 due to scheduled maintenance
Utility provider plans to interrupt supply of electricity in parts of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Oct. 29-30 due to scheduled maintenance.

The National Electricity Company of Burkina Faso (SONABEL) has announced plans to temporarily suspend the supply of electricity in several parts of Ouagadougou Oct. 29-30. The purpose of the planned power outages is to allow for scheduled maintenance on the network. Power will reportedly be cut at the following times and locations:
08:00-13:00 Oct. 29: Bargo, Gampela (Burkina Equipements, LIBS Brasserie, SIBALUB, DIA Factory, MAVICO), Gonse, Gomissin, Zone du Bois, Nonsin, Rimkieta, Kossodo;
07:30-16:00 Oct. 30: Zone d'Activites Diverses (ZAD), Kalgondin, Zone 1, Katre Yaar, Toyibin, and Ouaga-Inter.
Localized transport and business disruptions are possible in areas experiencing power outages; malfunctioning traffic signals could disrupt the flow of traffic. Power outages and consequent disruptions could extend beyond the estimated power restoration times.
Advice
Charge mobile and other electrical devices in advance and ensure backup batteries are available where needed. Plan for possible road travel delays due to malfunctioning or nonfunctional traffic lights in affected areas; exercise caution when driving in the impacted areas. Verify that security systems are working during the scheduled power outages. Ensure that generators are functional and refuel equipment where necessary. Identify business-critical functions that require a power supply.
