Authorities are responding to a fire at the North West Rubber manufacturing plant on Henry Street in Brantford, Ontario, late Oct. 18. Brantford Fire Services reported that all of their crews are on site responding to the blaze. Police are rerouting traffic from the area of Henry Street and Middleton Street. Officials did not immediately confirm any casualties from the fire or the cause of the blaze.

Heightened security measures, including the deployment of additional personnel, are likely in place near the affected area. Localized transport and business disruptions are probable. Lingering disruptions may occur after the fire is extinguished, as officials conclude their investigation of the blaze.

Brantford is approximately 33 km (20 miles) west by southwest of Hamilton.
