Activists plan to protest in multiple cities from 18:00 Oct. 22 to condemn the killing of two members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community in Bratislava, Slovakia, Oct. 12 and to demand that the government takes more actions to stop discrimination and violence against the LGBTQ community. Confirmed locations include:
Prague: Activists to gather at Rudolfinum and march to the Slovak Embassy.
Brno: Activists to gather at Dominikanske Namesti and march to the Slovak Consulate.
Ostrava: Activists to gather at PLATO Bauhaus and march to Masarykovo Namesti.
Olomouc: Activists to gather at Zizkovo Namesti and march to Nejsvetejsi Trojice.
Officials are likely to increase police presence near all protest locations and could close roads to facilitate the movement of crowds. Public transport normally routed through or near impacted locations could also be affected. Clashes are unlikely. Localized road travel and business operations disruptions are likely near all protest sites.
