Czech Republic, Russia: Czech authorities to restrict entry of Russian nationals from Oct. 25

Czech authorities to indefinitely restrict entry of Russian nationals from Oct. 25.

Informational

Event

Authorities in Czech Republic will bar Russian citizens holding Schengen tourist, sports, or culture visas from entering the Czech Republic, effective Oct. 25. Czech authorities stated that the restriction was directly linked to recent Russian attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine. Czech Republic had stopped issuing visas to Russians in February 2022, except on humanitarian grounds, therefore this ban will affect those with visas issued in other Schengen area countries.

Russian citizens may still enter Czech Republic with Schengen business or student visas. According to authorities, the new regulation is most likely to affect Russians arriving at Prague airport. This regulation follows similar action to restrict Russian citizens' travel in Finland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
