France: Metro services in Lyon suspended the evening of Oct. 6 due to computer failure

Suspension of metro services in Lyon, France the evening of Oct. 6. Disruptions likely through at least 20:00.

Warning

Event

All metro services in Lyon have been suspended as of 17:00 Oct. 6 due to a computer failure. Metro authorities indicated that a resumption of metro service is expected around 20:00. Authorities have deployed replacement buses that will serve line B from Gare d'Oullins to Jean-Mace, on line D from Gare de Vaise to Bellecour and have advised passengers taking line C to take the C13 bus traveling between Hotel de Ville Louis Pradel and Croix-Rousse.

Increased demand for alternative transport is likely, leading to possible crowding and a reduction in availability. Lingering disruptions are likely once services resume as transport schedules and passenger flows return to normal.

Advice

Reconfirm public transport schedules before beginning journeys and allow extra time for travel. Make alternative transport arrangements if necessary.
