The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has called for a rally at the Astabal ground in Agartala, Tripura, 12:00 Oct. 21. Organizers intend to mobilize support for the party, and denounce policies of the state government under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Dozens to a few hundred people will likely participate.

Authorities will likely monitor the event and may try to disperse the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Participants may clash with police and/or rival party members. Enhanced security measures including the use of tear gas and water cannons to disperse crowds, as well as temporary curbs on public movement and/or mobile internet services are possible if significant violence occurs. Localized transport disruptions are likely along nearby roadways that attendees may march on or use to reach the rally venue.
