National Body of Adouls to strike nationwide in Morocco from Oct. 27-29. Associated protests possible.

Informational

Event

The National Body of Adouls, unionized judicial workers, plan to strike nationwide from Oct. 27-29. The union is denouncing Article 8 of the 2023 Finance Bill, currently being negotiated in the House of Representatives, which allegedly excludes the adouls from exercising some specific activities reserved for official notaries. Further strike action is planned Nov. 2-5, with associated protests planned Nov. 4 near the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Parliament in Rabat.

Localized business disruptions could occur over the coming days. Strike participants may also hold protests during the Oct. 27-29 labor action. Gatherings are possible in Rabat near Parliament or the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Elsewhere, sit-ins and protests could occur near courts and prominent government buildings. Any such demonstrations could prompt localized ground transport disruptions.

Advice

Plan for localized business disruptions in the coming days. Comply with all directives from local authorities. Avoid all protests as a standard precaution.
