North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the East Sea (Sea of Japan) the morning of Oct. 4. The Japanese government warned its citizens to take cover after its coast guard reported seeing a missile launch from an area within North Korea around 07:29. There were no immediate reports of damage, injuries, or transport disruptions in connection with the incident. Officials state that the missile overflew the Tohuko Region before landing outside the Exclusive Economic Zone in the Pacific Ocean. The projectile launch is the fifth projectile launch by Pyongyang in a ten-day period.
