Spain introduced new border restrictions on minors at the Gibraltar border, Oct. 12. Under 18s will have to accompanied by an adult, and a certificate will be required if that adult is not their parent. The regulations apply to minors of all nationalities and residents in both Spain and Gibraltar.

Border crossing security is increasing to ensure that minors traveling across the border are doing so with their parents' consent.

Advice

Parents and responsable adults must plan border crossings for minors, by ensuring that minors are accompanied, and that the "Permiso de viaje fuera del territorio nacional para menores" is completed if necessary.
