Emergency crews are continuing to respond to a water main break that occurred on Bloomfield Avenue and Church Street in Nutley, New Jersey, early Oct. 7. The towns of Montclair and Glen Ridge in Essex County have declared water emergencies and have been advised to restrict the use of non-essential water. Bloomfield is currently under a boil water advisory, and residents in Newark have reported low water pressure. The break has mainly been impacting the counties of Essex, Hudson, and Passaic in the state.

Officials have stated that significant progress has been made and that the break could be repaired by late Oct. 9. Disruptions are likely to continue until at least early Oct. 10. Other nearby localities may be affected in the coming hours.
