Kenya Power, the country's energy provider, announced around 21:50 that normal power supply is returning nationwide. According to Kenya Power, the outages were caused by a "system disturbance." Blackouts were reported throughout Kenya earlier in the day, including in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Residual commercial and communications disruptions are possible over the coming hours. Traffic lights may not function, resulting in traffic disruptions, and public transport that relies on power may be affected. The outage could also result in the temporary unavailability of essential facilities such as ATMs and filling stations.
