The Casablanca Bar Council plans to stage a sit-in outside the Parliament in Rabat on Nov. 8. The demonstration is part of a strike that attorneys initially launched on Nov. 1 to denounce increased taxes included in the 2023 Finance Law. The Bar Council plans to continue its current labor action through at least Nov. 13; additional protest gatherings are possible for the duration of the work stoppage.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near Parliament for the duration of the sit-in. While the demonstration will likely pass off peacefully, minor clashes between protesters and security personnel remain possible. Police will likely disperse the demonstrators if they are overly disruptive.
