Emirates suspends flights to and from Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, as of Nov. 4 due to financial issues.
Event
Emirates (EK) has suspended all flights to and from Abuja (ABV) and Lagos (LOS) as of Nov. 4 due to unresolved issues with relevant authorities to repatriate funds from Nigeria. These are the only airports EK operates in, in Nigeria. It is unclear how long the suspension will last. EK previously implemented a ban Sept. 1-11 over the same issue. EK may resume flights with little or no notice, depending on talks with Nigerian officials.
There will likely be heightened demand for alternative available flights during the suspension period.
Advice
Reconfirm flights between the UAE and Nigeria. Book alternate travel arrangements as soon as possible.
