Emergency crews are working to contain multiple wildfires in Apurimac Region as of early Nov. 15. Reports indicate that at least 15 fires are burning in the region, including eight fires in Abancay City. The worst hit are Abancay, Curahuasi, Tamburco, and Pichirhua districts in the province of Abancay as well as Toraya, Colcabamba, and Lucre districts in the province of Aymaraes. Authorities have confirmed one fatality in Lucre District.
