Multiple explosions reported after suicide bombing kills 15 at General Dhagabadan military facility in Mogadishu, Somalia, late Nov. 5.

A suspected suicide bombing attack killed at least 15 people and wounded an unspecified number of others in the vicinity of the General Dhagabadan military training center in Mogadishu's Wadajir District late Nov. 5. Unconfirmed reports also indicate that multiple other explosions have impacted the capital following the initial blast at the military facility, including from suspected mortar attacks; notably, an explosion reportedly impacted the area between the Dabka and Sayidka junctions near Villa Somalia. Al-Shabaab militants are likely to have carried out the attacks.

Heightened security and disruptions to transport and business are likely in the affected areas over the coming hours. Further militant attacks cannot be ruled out in Mogadishu over the short term.
