Large gatherings and increased security measures are likely in Rabat, and other major cities across the country Dec. 20 as the Moroccan football team will return from a historic performance at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The team's plane will land around 16:00 at Rabat-Sale International Airport (RBA). The team will parade in a bus around Rabat to meet its supporters. Rallies, demonstrations, and other gatherings could materialize with little notice, especially at RBA, along major streets in Rabat, and prominent public squares in other major cities.

Heightened security measures, including temporary road closures, will almost certainly remain in place throughout Dec. 20. Some localized ground transport disruptions are likely. Significant violence is not anticipated.
