Police have reported that two unidentified individuals shot five students of the nearby Edmondson-Westside High School at the shopping center during their lunch break; one of the students died of his wounds. Police said both suspects then fled the area, and neither has been apprehended.

Baltimore City Public Schools said that Edmondson-Westside High School went into lockdown amid the investigation and later released students at the normal dismissal time (14:50). Administrators have canceled Jan. 4 after-school activities, including sports, at the school in response to the shooting.
