US: Amtrak reports train delays between Philadelphia, Pa., and Wilmington, Del., due to fire department activity near tracks Oct. 14

Amtrak authorities have reported that fire department activity near the tracks has caused "lengthy delays" impacting trains operating between 30th Street Station (PHL) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington Station (WIL) in Wilmington, Delaware, on Oct. 14. Officials did not immediately provide an estimated time at which the fire department activity would conclude and the rail transport delays would abate.

Rail transport disruptions will likely continue to affect trains operating between PHL and WIL over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after the fire department activity concludes as crews work to reposition rolling stock and clear any passenger backlog that materializes.
