Additional demonstrations by teachers and workers in Caracas, Venezuela, remain likely through at least late January after demonstrators protested in several locations, including outside the Ministry of Education and the Public Ministry, on Jan. 16 to demand several concessions, including higher salaries. Hundreds of people will likely participate in any demonstrations that materialize outside the Ministry of Education headquarters or other government buildings. Related demonstrations may also occur nationwide near education-related government institutions, city centers, and public squares.

Police are likely to deploy to monitor all related events. Confrontations between protesters and the police may occur if demonstrators are overly disruptive or ignore police orders to disperse. Ground travel delays are possible near all gathering sites.
