The National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) civil society coalition has called for a protest in Conakry Feb. 16 to denounce the ongoing transition period, demand the liberation of imprisoned FNDC members, and the immediate lifting of a ban on demonstrations. Participants will gather at 09:00 at the Tannerie Roundabout and march to the People's Palace, via Yimbaya, Ahmed Sekou Toure International Airport (CKY), Gbessia Kondebougni, Bonfi carrier, Kenien, Madina, Donka, and Moussodougou.

Authorities will likely deploy additional security personnel to prevent protests from taking place. Clashes with security forces are possible if demonstrators ignore police orders to disperse. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely near demonstrations.
