Lithuania: US Embassy issues security alert for planned protest in Vilnius Feb. 20

The US Embassy in Vilnius has issued a security alert for a demonstration planned in front of the Belarusian Embassy for Feb. 20. Several activist groups intend to gather from 18:00 until 20:30 to denounce Russia's continued war in Ukraine. It is unclear how many participants the demonstration will attract.

Although the action should remain largely peaceful, authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased security presence near the gathering as a precaution. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely.
