Lithuania: Activists to demonstrate at parliament building in Vilnius Nov. 14
Activists to protest at parliament building in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 18:00 Nov. 14. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to protest at the national parliament building (Seimas) in Vilnius from 18:00 Nov. 14. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the Social Democratic Party's decision to enter into a coalition with the Nemunas Dawn party. Organizers estimate at least 300 participants will attend; however, attendance in the thousands is possible.
Police will likely deploy to facilitate the demonstration. Associated road closures may prompt localized travel disruptions. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or activists from rival political camps cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
