PT: General strike ongoing in Palestinian Territories Feb. 23

The National Security Forces (NSF), associated with the Palestinian Authority, announced a general strike in all Palestinian Territories on Feb. 23. The labor action includes workers from all public transport sectors, public services, banks, schools, and private shops. The purpose of the action is to denounce a military raid led by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Nablus on Feb. 22, which killed 11 Palestinians and injured over 100 people.

Heightened security measures and localized transport disruptions are likely throughout the Palestinian Territories. Associated protests could occur. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
