Unionized construction workers under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) plan to demonstrate in front of Sungnyemun in downtown Seoul from 15:00 Feb. 28. The action is in response to the authorities' alleged suppression of union activities at construction sites. Thousands of workers could participate in the action.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely through the evening of Feb. 28. Clashes between police and protesters are possible.
