At least four people have been injured due to a gas explosion at a factory in the Takahira area of Nihonmatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, on the afternoon of March 10. The cause of the incident is unclear.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the affected area. Authorities may restrict access to nearby roads to facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles. Officials may also mandate building evacuations and business closures in the vicinity as a precaution until clearance operations and investigations end.

The incident site is approximately 73 km (45 miles) northwest of Iwaki.
