Unions representing self-employed and freelance workers plan to protest across New Caledonia from 09:00 March 8 to denounce proposed changes to health insurance contributions. Activists will gather from 03:00 at the Government of New Caledonia building in Noumea for a sit-in. Gatherings will also take place near the municipal police headquarters in Bourail, outside the North Province headquarters in Kone, at the City Hall in La Foa, and at an undisclosed location in Poindimie.
