India: Rail disruptions ongoing in Bengaluru as of late April 21 after derailment of cargo train

Rail cancelations and diversions, including passenger trains, are occurring in Bengaluru as of late April 21. The disruptions were due to a cargo train derailment in an area between Marandahalli and Rayakottai stations in Tamil Nadu, early April 21. The disruptions are set to continue through at least 23:15. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Increased demand for alternative forms of transport is likely which could lead to congestion and further delays. Residual delays are likely until at least early April 22.
